Description The Bombers 2.5 Ring Control Plate follows the cotour of the horse’s tongue, and best suits a horse that accepts tongue preesue. The 2.5 ring cheek is a good alternative to the conventional 3 or 4 ring cheek if less poll pressure is required. The addition of the half ring reduces leverage on the poll and mouthpiece. Ideal for more sensitive horses. The use of a Nylon backstrap is recommended & the backstrap is supplied, while the sweet iron mouthpiece stimulates salivation which in turn encourages a softer mouth. In addition, the central control plate is set at 45° to follow the contour of the horse’s tongue. This type of mouthpiece is best suited to a horse that accepts tongue pressure. A horse who uses his tongue as a means of pushing against the bit and therefore taking control, will draw back and tuck his chin in, coming back to a better point of control. This bit is a very good choice for the horse that shakes its head up when in a snaffle.
